...where to draw the line between being annoyingly persistent and ignoring someone?

With no relation, I couldn't get my new bike computer to work today; it wouldn't pick up the magnet on the wheel. So for now, I guess it's back to the annoying GPS system...though my bike needs to go in for a tuneup anyway.
