Pet Peeve

A pet peeve of mine is people who are fat and who choose not to do
anything about it. As a corollary to this, seeing someone doing
something to keep himself in shape makes me feel all warm and fuzzy
inside.

So today, while I was at the gym working with my trainer, there was
this slightly pudgy, early teenage girl working out, and the woman
there, who appeared to be her ride (mother? grandmother?), yelling at
her to get going. Now, there are far too many fat kids in this
country, and if yours is at the gym working out, you should be doing
everything you can to encourage this. Perhaps even work out yourself.
What you should not be doing is making the experience unpleasant for
the child. Stupid, stupid people.
